This wonderful online version of our incredibly popular class for Pre-schoolers and Kindergarteners is a perfect introduction to theater and the performing arts, curated especially for our tiniest students! Your child will play, sing, and improvise — a great way to encourage creativity, confidence, and critical thinking for your young and energetic star.

We are excited to offer this fun online performance class. We will rehearse and tape songs and scenes from a musical, which will be chosen to suit the registrants. We will tape participants at Hoboken Children’s Theater in Hoboken, individually by appointment at the end of the session, and then edit their performances into a film to share with family and friends.

A princess, a tiger, or even a rocketship – in this online class you can be ANYTHING! This fun class uses theater games, dramatic play, and physical improv to help your child reach new levels of confidence and creativity. Great for children with all levels of performance experience.

Students will create their own online News program, including the commercials! They will learn the ins and outs of filmmaking while creating their own content, choosing the subject matter, storyboarding the action, and learning about film shots. They will finish the class with a professionally edited video of their program, TV ready!

Just like our in-person version, this online Sing! Dance! Act! class will rehearse a full musical chosen to suit the registrants, and then tape at Hoboken Children’s Theater in Hoboken individually by appointment in March. Each week, participants will learn music, choreography, and acting. All actors will receive a finished video of the show.

Perfect for improv lovers and novices alike, this online course explores the FUNdamental principle of improv: YES AND! We will learn how to create fun scenes and zany characters through a mix of games and improv exercises. Guaranteed laughter, social connection, and fun, fun, FUN!

Just like our in-person version, this online Performance Workshop class will rehearse and perform a full musical, chosen to suit the registrants. Participants will come to Hoboken Children’s Theater to tape their roles by appointment, individually or socially distanced. Each week, participants will learn acting, music, and choreography. All actors will receive a finished video of the show.

Students will learn the ins and outs of filmmaking while creating their own short film in this fun online class. It could be a horror movie, a drama, or even a comedy! From choosing the subject matter, to developing the script, storyboarding the action, and learning about shots and acting on film, students will be part of every step of the process. At the end of the session, they will receive their professionally edited film.

Dive into the magical realm of puppetry online! Using typical household materials (paper towel rolls, cardboard, etc.) and being introduced to different styles of puppetry from around the world, participants will learn to create and manipulate their very own puppets! Their final piece will be an original play starring their own puppet creations!

Just like our in-person version, this online Teen Workshop class will rehearse and perform a full musical chosen to suit the registrants. Participants will come to Hoboken Children’s Theater to tape their roles by appointment, individually or socially distanced. Each week, participants will learn acting, music, and choreography. All actors will receive a finished video of the show.

In this online edition of Teen Acting & Improv, we will explore the fundamentals of improvisation and acting. Students will learn the building blocks of improv, discover the power of saying “Yes, AND!”, and hone their ability to think on their feet. The acting portion of this class will focus on character development and text analysis. This 90 minute class is jam-packed with fun silly games and rich class discussions.

HCT Company is for advanced performers, grades 7-12, with extensive experience. It is invitation/audition only. We will be working on a full musical, rehearsing online and taping either individually, or in socially distanced groups at Hoboken Children’s Theater in the Spring. Same level of advanced vocal work, same level of choreography.
